Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
Research Methodology and Data Analytics
Doctor of Philosophy Program in Research Methodology and Data Analytics aims to produce doctorates who have knowledge and skills in research, statistics, and information technology. The graduate can apply advanced statistical methods to add value to data and the search for new knowledge from existing data. The graduate is expected to be an academic leader who can create new knowledge from research processes and is ready to be a research leader in the organization. The curriculum is organized by placing the learner as the center of learning, develop learners in all aspects through the process of solving problems and researching by themselves, having morals, ethics, and professional ethics. And the program focuses on students’ being ready to learn and develop themselves continuously after graduation.
What You Will Learn
- Our progtram conducts all activities in English, just like an international program.
- We have a strong advisor team led by experts in statistics who have experiences from world leading universities and work full-time in our program. the advisors have publications progressively.
- The program emphasizes on data science, to which is applied and utilized to organizations, locals, nation, and disciminate to the public natioanlly and internationally.
- The program has diverse feilds of students who aim the same goal, which is utilizing statistical methods or develop new methods to describe data. the students have the oppotunity to share and learn together.
- The program provides instruction in English and has international students to internationalize and improve English skills to Thai students.
- The students can develop research works to publish in national and international journals.
Research Opportunity
Students learn their research skills in a substantive field such as public health, climate science, marine or aquatic biology, land-use and development, social science, and population science, mining data from available websites such as the CRU, NREL, BOM and land-use data banks in Britain, the USA, Australia, and Thailand. They learn how to apply appropriate statistical methods, particularly those involving variation in time and space. These include generalized linear models (normal, logistic, Poisson and Gamma regression models), factor analysis and other multivariate procedures, GIS applications, and computational and graphical methods, and we develop new statistical methods where needed.
Program Specification
PLO1: Design the research process using appropriate methodology for adding the value to the data in order to solve the organization issues
PLO2: Integrate the data manipulation knowledge to other disciplines for adding the value to the data in order to create new knowledge to solve the organization issues
PLO3: Address challenges with organizational research, start by developing research and data analysis
PLO4: Select the appropriate tools and statistical methods for data analysis and adding the value to the data
