Department of Rubber Technology
ภาควิชาเทคโนโลยียางและพอลิเมอร์
About
The university-level institution in the country that seriously taught in the field of rubber technology began at Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, in 1977. We offered the Bachelor of Science (Education) and “Rubber Chemistry” programs, with the first batch of graduates graduating in 1980. We have continuously produced 5 batches of graduates in the field of rubber chemistry. Later in 1985, Prince of Songkla University received approval from the University Affairs Office to establish the Faculty of Science and Technology to be responsible for producing graduates in the fields of rubber technology and other fields. Therefore, the production of Bachelor of Science (Education) graduates in the field of “Rubber Chemistry” ended. Since 1985, it has begun to accept students in the Bachelor of Science (Rubber Technology) program in order to have an agency responsible for teaching and administering the rubber technology program. The Faculty therefore established the Polymer Technology Department as an internal unit of the Faculty under the Department of Science and Mathematics. Later, when the Department of Technology and Industry was established in 1988, all the work of the department was transferred to the Department of Technology and Industry. The first batch of graduates in the field was in 1989. Currently, in 2018, there have been more than 30 batches of graduates, approximately 1,000 people, distributed in the rubber, chemical, and polymer industries, the education sector, state enterprises, community enterprises, entrepreneurs, etc.
