Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
Green Industrial Chemistry

B.Sc. (Green Industrial Chemistry)

Philosophy and Objectives of the Program

The Green Industrial Chemistry Program is a collaborative program between chemical science and chemical engineering. The program aims to produce graduates who are capable of working in both chemical laboratories and production departments in industrial plants. They can also work in production quality control and environmental departments. The program focuses on producing graduates who are professionals, who can work in real work environments with minimal adjustment, and who are academically correct, adhering to the ethics of scientists.

Highlights of the program

The Green Industrial Chemistry program combines chemical science and chemical engineering, enabling a wide range of work. Industrial chemistry teaches us to understand how chemical products around us are produced, such as chemical products, petroleum, plastics, various types of polymers, industrial fillers, detergents, cleaning agents, catalysts, and chemical synthesis. Industrial chemistry includes both large-scale industrial production, such as the chemical industry and the petroleum industry, and production in the agricultural industry, which is an important industry in the South, such as the rubber industry, palm oil industry, seafood industry, and agricultural waste management. It also includes new industries that are disruptive technologies, such as the energy industry, renewable energy, and biogas, and importantly, the program is prepared to drive modern industries, such as the green industry, green chemistry, and green engineering, where students will conduct research both in the laboratory and with the industrial sector to use their knowledge of chemistry and production processes to solve various problems.

Research Focus

The Industrial Chemistry program has research specialists who are continuously working on research, including:

  • Biomass energy research
  • Catalyst and inorganic chemistry research
  • Polymer research
  • Organic chemistry research
  • Biochemical product research

Industrial chemistry graduates can work in a variety of careers and earn good incomes, as there are departments that require knowledge in chemistry, including laboratories, quality control, chemical sales, and engineering knowledge in production management, safety, environmental management, and industrial management. Interesting careers include chemist/industrial chemist, quality controller, supervisor/production control engineer, safety officer, environmental officer, chemical sales scientist, and freelance careers.

Total credits throughout the course are not less than 135 credits.

  1. General education subjects not less than 30 credits
  2. Specialized subjects 99 credits consisting of basic major subjects: 40 credits, required major subjects: 47 credits, and elective major subjects: 12 credits
